Big boy/girl bed and bed rail ?'s

Ooook, I'm done. I am 7 months preggo and we still co-sleep with DS. He is turning into a crazy sleeper, and last night was INSANE! I was being kicked by a baby on the inside and a baby on the outside. Chat Icon Chat Icon

So we are thinking it's time for a big boy bed. I want to get DS a twin captain bed...do bed rails fit on captain style beds? Or do they need railings to snap into??

Also, he's 16 months old, but never spent a night in the crib. He hated it from day one..spent 2 months in a bassinet til he hated that too, and then we started co-sleeping. So he's used to a bed, but is a twin captain too much? Should I start with one of those smaller toddler beds?

TIA!

I could've written your post... word for word.

Not sure about the captain bed situation with the toddler rail, but we bought DS a toddler bed to start and it was a disaster. It was way too easy for him to get up out of it, and I ended up sleeping on the floor (he was used to co-sleeping with me also). Chat Icon

We moved him into a full size bed witha toddler rail and that seems to be going much better.
