If you have a full/twin size bed when converting to big boy/girl room from crib
did you decorate the room in a child-friendly theme or something more neutral that would last longer?
I'm trying to think economically.
There is a trains/cars/planes bedding that I love, but I wonder if I should go for something less childish so I don't have to redecorate everything in 5 years.
Thanks!

Well, we're having a twin bed, but I am going for the "older" look for the same reason you posted, to try to get more years out of it.
I got a nice seersucker comforter from the Pottery Barn Kids outlet, it's from their Teen line actually. Doing a kind of shabby beachy theme...definitely something DD can grow into, I'll add younger touches now but things that can be updated, KWIM?

We have solid color walls, "age neutral" furniture, and wall stickers.... That way, DC can change them whenever they want with minimal time or money invested.

Thanks! That's what I'm thinking I should do too.

I know myself-in 5 years I would want to redecorate because I'll get bored of it anyway so I just got what I liked.
Ended up with a polka dot and flower theme.
We have a twin bed though-just saw that part.
