big girl/big boy room- what size Bed?
Eventhough DD probably won't be sleeping in it for another year I want to get DD#1's room set up before DD#2 gets here. (she'll still be in the nursery for a while and dd2 will be in our room, but i still want it set up with all of her clothes and stuff).
Right now it's the guest bedroom and there's a Queen in there, but i think we're going to move that to a spare bedroom and get DD a new bed. Curious what size everyone else has. I was thinking of just getting her a twin, since she's little, and all Any feedback?

DD has a toddler bed. Her crib mattress fits perfetly in it.
Her room is tremendous so space wasn't an issue for us.

we went with a twin. DS's room would look too clutter with a full size bed and honestly I just didnt feel he needed one at this point. When he is a teen if he wants a bigger bed we will get him one at that point. Plus I figure at some point I will probably have to get him a new mattress anyway!

Twin. We have really small bedrooms, the full would barely have fit.

Re: big girl/big boy room- what size Bed?
I went with a full size bed for Ella and will probably do the same for Erik soon.
I'm glad I went full for these reasons: -more room to roll around without rolling off (I never needed/used bed rails) -its a lot more comfy for ME on those nights when she needs me to lay with her -its where we hang out to read stories & sing songs at night -room to have girlfriends sleep over -its furniture that can grow with her. While I may need to replace the mattress at some point, the headboard remains full size.
(space wasn't as issue - she has a big room. If it was, I would have gone twin)

We did the same for the same reasons.
All my BTDT friends said double if you can fit it for those nights when they are sick. Until recently all four of us could fit on one bed to read before bed.

Re: big girl/big boy room- what size Bed?
Landon started with a toddler bed (for 2 months) since we had the bed already and just dropped the crib mattress in.
We switched to a twin bed which was so much better for him, since he likes to roll around at night.
Then when we closed on our new house, his new room is so big and we had an extra full size bed, so we switched him to that. It is going great. The BIG PLUS is that when he is crying for us or sick, we can go sleep in there with him and actually fit comfortably in the bed... we are not fans of letting the kids in our bed. So I vote for keep the queen bed!

Re: big girl/big boy room- what size Bed?
We have a full size (that's in the basement right now) and we plan on using it in her room. Her room is big enough and since we don't have a guest room anymore, we can kick her out of her room when she's older so guests can stay in there.

Jack's crib converted to a full size, so that's what he has. I love it though - plenty of room for me, DH, Tyler, Jack, and the dog to all snuggle

DS is 14 and still has a twin. There would be no room for his friends to hang out w/a full.

Re: big girl/big boy room- what size Bed?
DD has a twin. We had a really nice queen-size mattress that was practically brand new (from when it was our guest bed) but I just wanted her to have more play space in the room and therefore chose a twin size bed.

Re: big girl/big boy room- what size Bed?
DS has a full and it's great for us all to get on (his crib converted) and I will again appreciate the size, but I almost wish I could move both kids into one room - but I'd need twins for that. But for right now, my younger son sleeps in older son's bed with him. There's plenty of room. but this is temporary. But my 3 year old is still in his toddler bed - and he's a tall fella - I guess that's why he prefers the full LOL.
