Re: big help needed regarding childrens book***

I think the first step is to look for agents who specialize in children's books and send them a manuscript.

You cannot just walk into a Simon & Schuster or Penguin Books and say "publish this". I am not sure of the exact protocal but the odds of getting a book published are less than getting struck by lightening. My DH works for a label that has music and books, so I know from what I am told. Good Luck!

I know a publisher that does a contest for books kids have written. Landmark Editions. Winners get their book published. This is legit.

One of the cutest books that I know from this contest is Oliver and the Oil Spill by Aruna Chandrasekhar. I think the girl was 9 when she wrote the book.

Good luck!

My friend works for Simon and Shuster. They will not talk to anyone who does not have an agent. My first recommendation would be to get an agent.

If you don't want to go that route, you can find a small publisher that specializes in kids books that *may* see you without an agent.
