Big Items on Registry- So Overwhelmed... Help...
We went to register today and were so overwhelmed...
what is necessary in terms of the big items:
1. car seat
2. stroller
3. pack and play with a bassinet feature
How long does the car seat and stroller last for? At what age do I need to get a different type? Do you register for one or more than one of each?
The pack and play with a bassinet feature- is that safe for the child to sleep in overnight? How many months do they sleep in the bassinet before they go to the crib?

Its extremely overwheming.
So the question is for your infant stroller car seat combo snap and goes are very popular. The travel systems are popular from like graco and chicco but are heavy. Lots of people like them but i know a lot of people dont... f u live in an apartment and have to carry it up steps with an infant could be an issue. These can last to a baby is a toddler and there are different price ranges and weights... Theres also the simple snap and go frame which you can use with any car seat... Do u live in the city? Suburbs? Do u travel a lot? Whats ur budget? Its all about ur needs...
then youll need a booster seat for when the baby is a few months old or at a certain weight...
And u may also want to register for an umbrella stroller for when the baby is 6 months for trips to the mall or travel. They are lightweight and not like a full size stroller.
The best thing to do is buy best baby bargains book... That thing helped me understand strollets safety ratings and what i really needed...
Playard with bassinets are safe and are safe for overnight use... I plan to use mine instead of registering for separate one...

Re: Big Items on Registry- So Overwhelmed... Help...
I live in a condo, in a city, so I tried to limit large items on my registry.
I registered for a chicco keyfit infant seat because we have friends who will give us their second base.
I did not register for a convertible seat as I have nowhere to store it for the first 6-9 months of babies life.
I registered for one stroller- a city mini and the car seat adapter. I'm still considering a snap and go.
My other big $$ item was a bouncy seat because I wanted a modern looking one, and those are more pricey.
I didn't register for a pack and play, I live in a single story condo so I thinks its unneccesary for my situation. To me, this is the least important.
I also chose not to register for a high chair due to the same storage issue.
Think about what you need/ who will buy stuff. My MIL/ SILs, GMIL bought my 3 pricey items. My sister is buying me a diaper bag. My mom is buying my crib.

I registered for the infant car seat and the convertible one. I never got the convertible and figured I will buy it when he out grows the infant so I don;t have to find a place to store it.
Stroller - I have the City Mini with the adapter for the infant car seat. I love it and see no need to get the separate snap and go. I see it as an added expense and added thing to store.
