big wig wearing bright blue nailpolish?
An admin at my job is wearing this. We work in a healthcare office so not super business attire but professional. She dresses in very bright floral dresses. Previous admin wore business suits. What do you think? Professional?

Re: big wig wearing bright blue nailpolish?
I would take a lead on how the rest of the office dresses.
Many of the staff in my clinic are in scrubs all day.
I tend to go with black pants and a nice top or sweater.
Overall, I think in healthcare, it's easier to get away with things you wouldn't in a traditional business environment.
You should've seen what people wore at my last employer which was a home care agency.
Just the leggings as pants would have the LIF fashionistas crying out in shame.

Re: big wig wearing bright blue nailpolish?
Sounds like Mimi from Drew Carey! LOL.
Her wig is blue, or her wig is just...big? I ask because I currently rock wigs and scarves on my head due to losing my hair from chemo...some of the scarves are bright and bold colors but that's very much "me" and its a way of feeling like myself during this time. Maybe she has something like this going on? I know when I first wore headscarves in place of wigs at work, some people were surprised at how I looked....but I've been there for years and I didnt change my work ethic; I just look different for the time being.
Blue nail polish...ehh...I feel like more and more bright colors are becoming workplace-friendly.
She may look a little off-the-wall, but if she gets her job done then that's really all that matters.

I don't think she means the person is wearing a wig, I think she means they are a "bigwig" like a big deal...I think she's just asking about blue nail polish. Which I actually think is fine if it's applied well and not sloppy. Blue is mainstream these days!

Better than chipped nail polish like I'm rocking today!
ETA: I chose "I wouldn't even notice."
ETAA: And I work in a large corporate law firm.

I chose "other". I definitely would notice, but I wouldn't think it was a big deal.

Re: big wig wearing bright blue nailpolish?
I work in advertising so you should see what some of the "bigwigs" wear!
Personally, I wouldn't care. However I have never worked in a suit and tie type of environment so in general that is just not something I am used to.

I work in healthcare and don't see a problem with it. I plan on being a bigwig one day and I will keep painting my nails like I always have. I'd probably stay away from the bright floral dresses though

I was thinking the same thing, I had to read the subject three times before it made sense.
I'm another old fashioned one, I don't really think blue (or other 'funky' colored nail polish for that matter) is very professional. I do think it would probably be more appropriate than the big blue wig though.

I don't know--my husband works in a behavioral health hospital and they dress fairly professional. He wears button downs shirts and his bosses wear ties. He's in IT, so that's pretty fancy for them.
I don't think blue nail polish is a big deal, but I guess I wouldn't wear it if I was wearing a suit, but for my day to day business casual office, I would if I liked blue nail polish.

Re: big wig wearing bright blue nailpolish?
It's nail polish, I don't think it's a big issue. Now if they were bright blue and waaay to long then I think that would be unprofessional.

Yeah. If they were super long acrylics that curled at the ends, I'd prob think differently about the blue polish.
