Re: Biophysical and NST
It's a sonogram and then they hook you up to a fetal monitor to monitor if you are having contractions and you have a botton to press when you feel the baby move. Nothing to it!!

Correct
Biophysical - sonogram NST - the monitoring part
Expect to be there about an hour
I've been having these done 1x a week for 2 weeks now

Of Course not!!! You are strapped to a monitor..that's it!! They dont' strap you down. Donlt listen to silliness!!
ETA: it's a strap that goes around your belly to monitor contractions. that's it.

I dont think so I am doing it because my amniotic fluid is too high so they need to check me once a week.

Re: Biophysical and NST
Theres nothing to it, its actually kind of relaxing to sit there and just listen to your babies heart beating. I have to have them 2x a week in the third trimester....sometimes to get the baby moving they feed me hershey kisses and lemonade...its good times!

I am starting mine at 36 weeks. I was told I'm having it because of my GD.
What week is everyone else starting?

Girl they don't strap you down. You sit in a seat usually very comfy recliner and you just get the monitor put to your belly to listen to the heart beat. Why are they doing that for you??? I only had it for Avery when I thought i didn't feel her moving 3 days before born.

Re: Biophysical and NST
you sit on in a chair they wrap the monitor around your belly one for contractions another for the babys heartbeat each time you feel the baby kick you press a botton for 20mins
then they do a sono to measure the baby its pretty calming i used to love to assure myself my son was healthy and still in my belly i was considered preterm from 21weeks and i made it to 40w and 1 d from all the bed rest and monitoring.
best of luck to u

Re: Biophysical and NST
I start mine 3/1.
WebMd has a detailed description, but it's pretty much how the prior posters described.
