Birchbox vs. Ipsy

I was all set and ready to sign up for Ipsy but then I see some of you ladies talking about Birchbox.

Which do you feel is better? Is there a big difference?

I looked into both and from the reviews I read, you get more sample sizes with BB whereas you get bigger items from Ipsy.

The 2 reasons I went with Ipsy over Birchbox was 1. the cancellation policy was easier with Ipsy and 2. I heard that with BB, you get food samples. I don't want food, I want makeup/beauty products.

I went with Ipsy bc of the item sizes, it is almost always, full size items or deluxe sample sizes.

I have both and have liked the birch box products better so far. I even ordered 2full sizes from one box

I get both .... I am leaning towards canceling Birchbox because I feel I always get the same things over and over again. They both have their plus and minuses. I like that Ipsy gives you more full sized samples then Birchbox.

I have both. Ipsy is better. Every month I say I am canceling birchbox but then they send me a decent box. I am going to give them a few more months

Do you get points on Ipsy like you do with BB? This months BB was very good. I think it got better.

The food was like a power bar 5 months ago. That's all I can recall.

I have both but want to cancel Ipsy (I signed up for the year plan so I think I'm stuck). BB sends chocolates as food items, I've never gotten granola bars or anything like that.

The big difference between BB and Ipsy is that with Ipsy yo get makeup samples WITH a free makeup bag every month. BB is just the makeup samples thrown in a box.

Ipsy bags are hit or miss. I liked this months bag, the one I got 2 months ago was very flimsy (felt like tissue paper). I also got this glitter thing that's useless to me since its more like body paint than eye makeup. BB items seem more diverse..I have gotten more hair products and perfume samples from BB than Ipsy which seems to send mostly face products (eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliners).

I also get GlossyBox which I like a lot. Every box has a good mix of hair, skin and misc products..I got a couple of awesome smelling Body Lotions from Glossy that retail for around $80-100 a bottle....you can read the reviews of all the subscription boxes at
