Birth Control question
For the first time in my life I will be on birth control. I get really bad periods and I also have endometriosis so my doctor said brith control will make things a bit easier.
I had a baby two months ago and I officially started my period yesterday (the 28th). My doctor reocmmended that I start the pill on a Sunday so I'll take my first tomorrow.
My question is when should I expect the next period? Would it come on the 28th of January? People I know on the pill say they can even predict the exact time when their period starts. Are they kidding me or what?
My doctor also recommended that I take the pill at night after dinner. When do you take yours?

Re: Birth Control question
when I was on the pill I took it in the morning as part of my morning routine, so I never forgot it.
and yes, I could predict within the hour when my period would arrive (2-3pm every 4th monday). I absolutely loved it for that reason.

When I was on the pill, I started the new pack on Sundays, like you. I could count on getting my period every 4th Tuesday between 10 and 11 am. I loved it.

Re: Birth Control question
I can tell you the day, but not the time. Also after having taken it for years, it started showing up a day earlier, but that's fine, because it leaves a day earlier too. I take mine in the morning when I get up because I never know where I will be at nighttime. There are some days I go to work, then go out and don't get home until after midnight. That is up to each individual person. You'll figure out what is best for you. From what I remember, the first month you may get spotting.

Re: Birth Control question
I'm thinking it depends on the kind of pill. I used to be on a 28-day pack, so my period started in the 4th week, while I was taking the placebo bills. It was usually Wednesday of that week, so the 25th day.
I took the pill in the evening, about 8pm, because I would get nauseous during the day if I took the pill in the morning. So I slept off the nausea.

same here - morning so i don't forget and it is part of my routine - also, if i happen to forget i still have the rest of day and night to remember and take it.
i can also predict when i will get my period - it is always in the morning between 9am and 11am on fourth Friday of the month - do your math ladies, that means I got it yesterday morning! Like clockwork
It also made my periods much better!!!! They used to last anywhere from 3-5 days and ALL heavy - now, I have one moderately (compared to how I used to be) heavy day and usually one light day - sometimes two but VERY light - so it's like nothing - it is amazing.
It cut the cramps in half - I love it - it is even good for my skin BUT you have to find the RIGHT pill for you - usually, your doc helps you with this.
The wrong pill could give you bad side affects - the first pill I went on was wrong for me - it made me gain water weight - it was years ago! ugh! i went off it right away.
The second pill I went on was great - no weight gain - everything was perfect BUT I did notice a decrease in sex drive on it - So, I went with a very similar pill in every way but when I told the doc what it did to me he said he had a pill that would not do that - but everything else would stay the same - it was GREAT!!! I love it.
So, everyone's different - what works for me (my pill) I have heard other girls say they HATE it - it all depends on your body.
HTH!!!

Re: Birth Control question
I took OrthoTricyclen Lo for seven years and I would always get it every 4th Tuesday between 10 and 11 am. It was great knowing exactly when I would get it! I would take the pill in te morning at the same time every day.
ETA: I did the Sunday start too

Re: Birth Control question
If I take a break from the pill and I go back on I get it exactly 21 days the first time and then I get it exactly every 28 days when I am on it regular. If I don't take the last few pills because I know I am getting it, then I will get it a few days early.

Re: Birth Control question
I take mine at 8pm every night. I don't remember if my period came right away because I've been on it 8 or 9 years... My period is very regular to within 1 day or so. It usually comes on Wednesday and occasionally Thursday.

Re: Birth Control question
I take the pill at night before I go to bed. I get my period on Wednesday 4 days after last pill (or 4 days into sugar pills). It lasts from Wednesday - Saturday and I know my light days and my heavy times too. Its crazy but I am so used to it by now.

i take my pill in the morning and yes, i always know when i'm going to get it.
don't freak out if u don't get it on the first day u take the different colored pill (the one that starts your period.) i got super nervous the first time - at first, my period would come the second day i take the new pills; now its the third and always in the a.m.
