Birth/Lamaze/Bradley Method Classes
I have a couple of questions about this if you took any or all of these types of classes:
Where did you go for these?
What was the cost?
How long was the class(es)?
How much of the class was devoted to breathing techniques, relaxation and coach "training"?
Was it worth it (if your a BTDT mom)? Do you feel more at ease (if you haven't delivered yet) with what you learned?
DH and I want to find a class, but don't know where to begin looking... and I figured where else to ask but here?!
BTW: We are in Wantagh and are delivering in NS/LIJ and are willing to travel to Suffolk county...
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Re: Birth/Lamaze/Bradley Method Classes
I would love to take a Bradley Method class.
It's too soon to look into it- but I'll let you know when I do.

Re: Birth/Lamaze/Bradley Method Classes
I signed up for Bradley, beginning in January. The teachers run the courses from 6-12 weeks, so you need to sign up pretty early (esp. since it is usually only about 4 couples in a class). The price was $300 and we are doing it in Roslyn on Sunday evenings. That's all I know so far!

Where did you go for these? New Baby Belly (LIF vendor)
What was the cost? $200
How long was the class(es)? 4.5 hours I think
How much of the class was devoted to breathing techniques, relaxation and coach "training"? She mixed it up, so I can't really say. We learned relaxing techniques first, then like an hour later learned basic lamaze.
Was it worth it (if your a BTDT mom)? Do you feel more at ease (if you haven't delivered yet) with what you learned? TOTALLY worth it to me. Ask me after birth & I could probably be more honest haha I felt clueless up until I took the class. I love, love, loved the class.

Re: Birth/Lamaze/Bradley Method Classes
we took lamaze... it was at good sam (i dont remember the cost since i took it last summer with ds) but it was worth it.. i would say 50% was devoted to breathing and relazation... the rest was child care, breastfeeding, and anything else people asked...
we took a full one day class on a saturday.... while i didn't remember all of the stuff they taought when i delivered i felt that it put my mind at ease when it came to stages of labor, when to call the doctor, what was normal and abnormal, and the other things that go on in the delivery room.. i would recommend taking a class out of the hospital you are delivering at if possible... i know the one at good sam spent some time discussing good sam specific processes
