Birthday at daycare
Today there is a birthday in Victoria's class and the kids are having cupcakes for a snack (with parental approval).
Next week is Victoria's birthday and she shares a birthday with another girl in her class. What did everyone do for first birthday in daycare? If the other Mom is doing cupcakes, I don't want to do the same. Also wondering healthier options.... they do get fruit & veggies with breakfast and lunch
ETA - this is a first birthday celebration at daycare

Re: Birthday at daycare
I brought in cupcakes for Thomas' first birthday in daycare.
If the other mom is doing cupcakes, you could do Munchkins? Pudding cups? No ideas for healthier alternatives - sorry!

Re: Birthday at daycare
For Ben's 1st birthday last month, I baked cupcakes for all the classes (about 50 ppl). If you don't want to do cupcakes, what about getting or making a fresh fruit salad? You can put it in a cut out watermelon or get little individual snack cups and put some fruit in each one.

Re: Birthday at daycare
Mini bagels with different cream cheeses, butter and jelly
Edible arrangements
Build your own 'sundae' cupcakes - cupcakes shaped like ice cream cones and little tins of sprinkles, cherries and mini m&m's, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, etc.. Or the same toppings with ice cream cups.

Re: Birthday at daycare
Love the idea of giving for all of the classes!!!
I think I will find out what the other Mommy is going to do. If she's doing cupcakes, I'll ask if the other parents mind fruit or individual ice creams

I brought in a Carvel cake to daycare for Jacob's first birthday. I also gave out little party bags.

Re: Birthday at daycare
I did not do anything for the kids. There was a wide range of ages and I didn't want to bring in sweets--those years will come soon enough. I just brought in extra chocolate "1" lollipops I had made for his party, for the staff.

How about muffins, fruit salad or oatmeal cookies?
