Birthday gift opinion (and a 2nd Q for parents of boys)...
My DD has a birthday party for her classmate this weekend...a little boy turning 6. I don't know him or his parents.
Is it acceptable to buy him clothes or is a toy the way to go?
Buying clothing would be more convenient for me, but if a toy is better, that's fine. So, the 2nd question...I am totally and 100% clueless on what a 6 year old boy would like. Any ideas?

DS is younger... turning 4, but I often buy clothes for his classmates' birthdays. I figure although toys are more "fun", they have SO many... you are likely to buy them something they already have... and clothes might be more needed...
JMO... but I think it's fine to give clothes as a gift. You can lean toward "cool" clothes... most boys like skulls, guitars, etc.

what about a gift card to the clothing store? A 6 year old boy could wear clothes from a size 6 to an 8 depending on brand, etc.
If you do buy clothes I would def add the gift receipt.
or you could do a gc to gamestop, most boys that age have Wii, Xbox, dsl, etc
