Birthday parties and OOT family...
I am doing my invite list for DS' first birthday next month. DH's mom's family lives all over the country, except for one uncle who lives in Brooklyn and who we are inviting. Now, do I send invites to his other 3 aunts and uncles and families and his grandparents with a little note in it or not bother?
I don't want to see like we are looking for a gift But they seem to get upset if they aren't included...

I would send them an invite just so they know you thought of them! I send invites to my family OOT even though I know they won't come.

Sophie, they ain't comin'. They all have very involved lives and multiple children...and Chris' grandpa is very ill, so his grandmother (who may come) won't.
I just don't want to look like I am asking for gifts, KWIM?
SIL may come with Sophia and they'd stay with us.

I have a lot of OOT family as well. All we're going to do is invite my mom and my dad. I may send pics to the rest of the family
