Birthday parties in Kindergarten
Are birthday parties when kids are in kindergarten drop off? We have 2 parties this weekend and I assumed I was staying. My dad asked if I was dropping Cailen off and all of a sudden I wondered if that's what happens?

House parties, yes.
Parties at outside places, no.

Re: Birthday parties in Kindergarten
I don't think so.
I went to a party a few weeks ago at a bowling alley. The bday boy is in 1st grade.
All parents stayed.
Also same in my circle of friends/family if the event is at a home.

Re: Birthday parties in Kindergarten
We went to a birthday party last month at a home, the mom said I was welcome to stay or leave. I stayed b/c I had just met them & new to their house.
At Troy's 5th bday party (may) a mom dropped her daughter off (left her cell #) - didn't ask just left her. DH had to call her to come get her DD- she didn't answer. the party had a to & from time and she showed up 10 min after end time (party was at home).
Maybe it's b/c Troy is my oldest (in my above story, the DD dropped off was the 2nd youngest of 3, older siblings are teens) and I'm not yet comfortable dropping him off at a house I don't know or place.

Re: Birthday parties in Kindergarten
Most seem to stay at outside parties. Last year in prek one home party was a drop off and some of us were not crazy about it. But for outside parties I would say most parents have stayed. A few drop and ran...but they were also the same parents who were leaving their child for playdates at others homes at age 3. I would plan to stay if that is what you are comfortable with. I stay.

Re: Birthday parties in Kindergarten
All parties have been optional for us this year. I stayed for a few, left for a few.

Re: Birthday parties in Kindergarten
We have had several birthdays in DS's class and parents stayed for all parties. I have seen parents run very local errands & come right back but that was it.
