Birthday party help...for a 2 year old in Jan
DH and I never had a 1st birthday for our DD (and the guilt is unbelievable)...anyway we didnt have one bc we where having work done to the house and we didnt have much money at the time..since her Bday is in Jan we couldnt do it outside..
So my question is...where can I have a nice 2nd bday for her?? Do I go for a restaurant or do I go for a small hall (inviting about 45 people...huge Families)
If so what do I do for entertainment?? I want it to be a nice party for DD and all the kids but I dont wanna have something to big and over kill...
Any advice on places?? (Suffolk area) And what kind of entertainment I should do at these places??
TIA

Western or Eastern Suffolk?
With 45 people, I'd opt for a hall (masonic/KOC) or a restaurant on a Sunday night. I'll send you some options that I just FM'ed someone else.
Also don't feel guilty about birthday parties. As long as you have photos of the cake & her, you can hold off until her pre-school friends start inviting her (aged 3-4).

Re: Birthday party help...for a 2 year old in Jan
We just had Shane's 1st bday party at alocal restaurant (I'm in queens so the locations won't help much) BUT I am *really* happy with the way it worked out; we booked a private room in a nice restaurant and we did as a BRUNCH buffet, the food was AWESOME, we held it from 12-3 (and just about EVERY parent thanked me for picking that time, it allowed them to stay on schedule for bedtime, etc). PLUS brunch was economical for us -- good thing because I committed to 25 and we ended up with 41 attending
Oh and i"m going to a 3yo party next month, the entertainment is going to be ARIEL (from the Little Mermaid), the little girl is like and the party's a month away LOL. What's DD "into"?

The hall at Mt SInai, Heritage Park(the wedge) is really nice and the prices are great. YOu could have arts and crafts set up, you could get get a clown or character, kids music(like from your ipod or boombox) for dancing. Tatoos and/or facepainting. If it is a nice day(even in January) they can go on the playground for a bit too!
The hall has a website The actual name is Heritage Trust Park
