Birthday party-narrowing down invites
I'm trying to get the guest list together for DD's birthday. She's turning 7.
I am having a tough time with the guest list. She is one of 11 girls in a Daisy troop. Last year I invited the whole troop, which had only 8 girls at the time. I am also one of the leaders.
She also has other friends-3- in her class, plus a couple kids from the neighborhood, plus 3 cousins. We are going to have the party at my house. So I'm looking at an invite list of 20. I know not everyone will come- but last year I invited 15-16 thinking I'd have 10-12 and I had 14. It was too many.
I REALLY want to narrow down the guest list- there are a couple girls in the troop she's not close with-one in particular who's been mean to her and her best friend who is also in the troop- but I worry about offending people and moms finding out that there was a party and their child wasn't invited. Ideally I'd have a party of 10-12. Any advice? Suggestions?

I would just invite the kids she is close to. I have had to do that, and it's fine. I think most parents understand
