Black Friday sales - Best Buy...
So I am considering braving Best Buy on Friday for 1 particular item i saw in the ad.
Would I be better off braving one of the stores out here or in the city (we will be there for thanksgiving and can stay the night with my fam)??
Any input on previous years' sales greatly appreciated...

if it is a big ticket item, unless you want to camp out, you might be out of luck. every year we hit TRU when it opens, and the line for the Best Buy next door is always easily 200-300 people long.

i might be better off in the city...I think last year the line wasn't that bad when we walked by...certainly not 200 deep...

I don't know if there were any big items there last year, but it was insane! We went after TRU and were on line over an hour to just check out. Definitely not my favorite store on Black Friday!

Re: Black Friday sales - Best Buy...
Yea we ran in last year to buy one of those kids digital cams and the staff was so UNHELPFUL at finding things. I think that was the most stressful part. The lines weren't too bad, but I think we were there around noon.
I think laptops and TV's are big ticket items - who knows!

REGARDING THE TICKETING SYSTEM AT BEST BUY:
From Best Buy:
How to Shop the Friday Doorbusters Specials at Best Buy
Hoping to get in on the amazing deals at Best Buy on Friday, November 23? You'll need to get there early in the morning, way before the stores open at 5 a.m.
Here are a few things to know before you go:
Prior to opening, a line of customers will form outside the store.
Starting at 3 a.m., with the front of the line, employees will hand out tickets to customers for Doorbuster and Bonus Doorbuster products (these are the front cover and BestBuy.com limited-quantity items, excluding CDs, DVDs and video game software).
The tickets, limited to 1 ticket per customer per item, will grant you the ability to buy the Doorbuster items.
These tickets are valid for a limited time. The products requiring a ticket must be purchased, or in your hand, by 9 a.m. This is when the remaining inventory, if available, will be released to the general public.
We are unable to guarantee all customers in line will receive a ticket. See Customer Specialist for details.
