Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
I put my baby in in a sleep sack and with a blanket. I think he is strong enough now to move himself if he needs to. is 9.5 months old.

I was and am not comfortable with blankets in the crib
Me too. DS got one when he was moved into his toddler bed at 2 1/2 years old. DD is almost 15 months old, in the crib and does not have a blanket.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
DS has been using a blanket (actually most of the time 2 blankets) since he was 3 months old. It never stays on him - he pulls it off and cuddles with it.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
I am thinking of giving Liam a blanket as he is growing out of the sleep sack soon. Right now he sleeps in a sleep sack with 2 loveys. He cuddles with the loveys.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
DD has a blanket in her crib since 6 months.
Now that it's warmer out, I just use a light receiving blanket.
She's capable of moving the blanket when she doesn't want it. It's never landed over her head. If anything, She moves up and the blanket stays in the same spot.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
I cover my DD with a light afghan that has holes at night. She is capable of moving it and loves playing with it when she wakes up. She doesn't have a "lovey" but I think this blanket is becoming it.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
DS has always had a blanket, its the same one I used to put over him when he was a swaddled infant and tuck it in the sides, now he just likes to "nush" with it...cuddle (lovey?) whatever it never stays on him longer than 5 mins. its usually somewhere on the side of the crib by the morning.

The AAP says no blankets under age of 12 months. Use a sleep sack instead. I thought DS would be cold with A/C too, but turns out he's sleeping great with just jis jammies.
ETA: I thought DS hated sleep sacks too...and he did for a while. We tried them out when he was almost 3 months (I should say we re-visited them) during nap time and he finally took to it. If DC didn't like the sack initially try it again. Even watching him like a hawk I wouldn't feel comfortable. JMO.
Eh, they say a lot of things - I'm comfortable with him having a blanket in the crib - I packed the sleep sacks away for Baby #2 - Maybe he/she will like it better ..........
