bleeding after internal and mucus plug.... Hi
I am 38 weeks and I had an internal yesterday. He said I was softening up and that I am 1-2 centimeters dilated.
I have been "bleeding" ever since the internal - lightly, but I'm wearing a panty liner.
Today I went to the bathroom and I passed a clot - deep red, kind of like when you have your period. Could this be my mucus plug?
Also, how long after an internal should you continue to bleed?

Not sure. I would call your doctor. My mucus plug has been coming out in bits but it is not bloody.

Re: bleeding after internal and mucus plug.... Hi
when i was in the hospital earlier this month i had about 4 internals in one day. that following morning i was passing so many blood clots that i got so scared. i told the nurse and she asked me to save them (how embarrassing, right)...anyway, she checked them and showed them to the resident...apparently it was completey normal...

Re: bleeding after internal and mucus plug.... Hi
After my first internal I bled for about 2-3 days very lightly, but it worried me. My dr. said it was normal.
