Bleeding early in pregnancy...
I think my surprise pregnancy is ending in a miscarriage. I started spotting this morning and it's gotten a little worse although not like I am having my period. I am a high risk based on age and have had 2 healthy pregnancies. I called the doctor and they really offer no advice. I'm just so sad and praying for a miracle. If anyone has some positive outcomes to share...I would love to hear them.

Re: Bleeding early in pregnancy...
Hi, I spotted early (around 4 weeks) and it ended after a few days. It was scary, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's over. Hang in there

Bleeding can be very common in early pregnancy. Sending you prayers and good vibes.

Re: Bleeding early in pregnancy...
I am on my second pregnancy. I bled at 5 weeks, started out spotting then went into filling up a whole pad; my doctor told me to come in right away and I had an ultrasound and he said all looked good and that we basically had to wait and see. I was put on progesterone. Then I came in every other day for a couple of days and they did some betas....my levels kept going up so it was looking good. I stopped bleeding heavy but I kept spotting on and off until basically week 10! It was a horrible couple of weeks but my doctor made me feel better because we kept seeing progress.
I still do not have a 100% reason for this occurence. Side note: I have endometreosis, have a history of a myomectomy so I have a lot of scar tissue, I have fibroids on my uterus. So who knows. But apparently its very common.
I am now 5 months prego...
Sending prayers your way!

Re: Bleeding early in pregnancy...
Try not to worry! I had bleeding at 5 weeks(that whole week) this pregnancy and it was heavy but everything so far has been good. It turned out I had a subchorionic hematoma which is becoming more common.
When do you go to the doctor?

Re: Bleeding early in pregnancy...
I'm sorry this is happening. How far along are you and will you be going in for your numbers or a sono any time soon? I know how that is - really the doctor can do nothing when there's spotting in early pregnancy, but they can at least check things to give you peace of mind.
I do have a friend who had spotting early in her pregnancy (I believe around 6wks). The doctor found the source on a sonogram but wasn't very concerned since it wasn't near the placenta. I've heard of some women who bleed all throughout their pregnancies. I can imagine how nerve-wracking that would be, but at least all was well.
So hang in there. I know bleeding is the scariest thing in the world during pregnancy and that for many it does end badly. But there are plenty of times it ends up fine too! So don't give up just yet.

Re: Bleeding early in pregnancy...
I had spotting with both of my pregnancies, and neither ended in m/c. I have a 28 month old DS and a 19 day old DD. Spotting doesn't mean it's over so don't give up. How far along are you?

Bleeding early in pregnancy...
Spotting definitely doesnt mean its over... it happens to a lot of people and they go onto have perfectly healthy children...
BUT you should always call the dr if you see any blood...

Re: Bleeding early in pregnancy...
Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. I'm about 7 weeks pregnant. The bleeding hasn't gotten worse but it's still there. There is only blood when I wipe (TMI) and no blood on the pad. I go in tomorrow for a sono to see what is happening. Thanks for all your good thoughts.

Re: Bleeding early in pregnancy...
I spotted both pregnancies from about 7 weeks til 26ish. Usually light pink to brown and sometimes a bit red. I had placenta previa both times plus a polyp this time. They usually say if there isn't cramping its a good sign. I'm glad you are going in for a sono. Good luck!!
