Blended family question
Long story short- my parents split up when I was around 10. When I was 15 (30 now), my mom started dating "Joe" and they have been together ever since. They aren't married- and will probably never get married- kinda like Stedmond and Oprah
Anyway, my Dad (who I was extremely close with) passed away when I was 21. To my nieces and nephews he was "Grandpa".
I love "Joe" and despite the fact that him and my mom aren't married I do consider him part of the family. My mom mentioned if DD should call him Grandpa (she is called Grandma by his grandkids) ...
I don't feel comfortable with her calling him Grandpa but I am not opposed to her calling him something else- but I can't think of what to call him! Basically as much as we care for him he's NOT my dad and I don't want my Dad to be forgotten if that makes any sense.
Sorry I am rambling lol - any suggestions?

Re: Blended family question
Papa Joe.
I have a friend who has almost the exact situation except her mom is married to him (even has the same name).
Her kids call him papa joe and it is so cute
