Bloating in the early weeks? Or real weight gain?

So I'm 5'4" and about 121/122 pounds, athletic. I am about 4/5 weeks along and I just weighed myself and even though my jeans all still fit me exactly the same (though boobs are very sore!) the scale just read 129! Is that even possible? Is that actual weight gain already (oh my!) or just bloat? I've been eating so great, basically the same as always. (and does the doctor help distinguish between actual gain and bloat?) I haven't been yet for the first visit, only blood work. she hasn't weighed me yet and i want to be like...WAIT! I am 122! (or i was! ha ha) So that I have an accurate starting point. maybe having chinese last night has something to do with it. Chat Icon

EDIT: Not to be TMI, but I think part of the issue is that I haven't been able to go to the bathroom for days, so I wondered if that was it. Thankfully was just able to (TMI!) and now it's 125. I guess this will just be up and down, part of the first tri. just don't want to gain too fast.

i would guess that it's probably a lot of water weight from bloating. it may or may not subside over the next few weeks...everyone is different.

It's just bloat, i'll stick around for almost the whole first trimester....sometimes it goes away around 10 weeks or so. It suckks but it's all part of the process.

I'm sure it's just bloat! try not to worry too much! Also, depending on what time of day you weigh yourself you may fluctuate a few pounds. I typically weight myself once a week in the AM before getting into the shower. My weight has been pretty consistent so far (I am 9W) but when I weigh myself in the evening i always weigh more.

It's bloat.

I am 5.5 weeks. I was 2 lbs heavier yesterday and now I am back down to normal again.
