Hey, for $40,800 they should be having the party CATERED for EVERYONE!!!!
That's more $$ than what my wedding cost!

That sounds like a crazy amount of money . . . . Are you sure its not going to be catered?

Re: Block party question what to do...
We're asked for $75. We're chipping in once again & missing the party, so I hear you on that. The amount they want is ridiculous. I would chip in $50-75 (or whatever you can afford)

Re: Block party question what to do...
I agree with everyone else that is a lot of money for a block party! Maybe you can talk to the person running it and see if you can chip in $50 and maybe bring a few home made dishes or desserts ??

Re: Block party question what to do...
I think that's alot of $$. Plus you have to pay for all the food and refreshments for your guests. How many houses are on your block? I heard most people pay around $50 a house. My block party next month the DJ is free since the neighbors son across the street has a DJ business.

Re: Block party question what to do...
We are having a block party and basically everyone is paying approx $100 to cover the DJ, bouncy house, water slide, cotton candy machine, character appearance and prizes/giveaways

Wow I agree that is alot. I have always paid $50. How many homes are involved?
So im not just being a cheap-ie then.
Im not sure how many house participate. Im not sure where they close the block from cause its very LONG there is 204 houses on the block
are you friendly w/ any of the neighbors? if so and they aren't blabblers, i would ask them if is a normal amount based on previous years.
IMO, it is WAY too much though.

Re: Block party question what to do...
ok so she just came around and I signed it saying it would be ok. That I would participate.
She said no less then 95.00 no more then 110.00 Still seems a little high but not 200.00
They are having a DJ waterslide and cotton candy machine. So who is stopping by! I want to make sure I get my money's worth

ours is going to be around $100 which isn't bad considering all the activities that we will have... Also our block only has it every other year..
