Blood In Stool Question & Pediatric Gastroenterologist-Suffolk
My 3 month old son recently began having blood in his stool....not all of them and not alot. But nonetheless, it's there. His primary care doctor tested a dirty diaper today to confirm. She suggested that it could be a vitamin K deficiency or it could be that he is snacking so frequently on breastmilk that he's not getting the hindmilk often enough. Has anyone ever had their DC diagnosed with a Vit K deficiency? And, do you know of any GI docs in Suffolk for infants? Thanks.

I always thought this was a tell-tale sign of a milk protein allergy, at least that's what I read when this happened to DD. We switched her formula and within a couple of weeks, the blood was all gone and she was doing much, much better.

Same here. He had a second poopy diaper checked a week after starting Alimentum and no more blood in diaper Third one was checked today and still good!
