TMI question, but need help quick - blood in stool
Okay, I just came back from a long walk and felt like I needed to poop the really soft kind of poop, if you know what I mean Anyway, when I wiped, I noticed the color was pretty red. I have multiple hemroids but they havent been bleeding up to this point. I also had pretty bad lower back pain today on my left side (which I thought was back contractions). When I checked the toilet, the stool was really red.
Is this normal "pre-labor"/hemroid stool, or should I be concerned it could be a sign of something else?? I've never had this before and its really freaking me out.

If it is red blood, it's probably the hemorrhoids(if it was coming from that area).

sounds like hemorrhoids. They can get bad.

Yes, it was a deep red. When I wiped it wasnt really on the outside, it was more IN the stool.
sorry, I know this is totally TMI.

I'm sorry, I don't have any info on the hemmie portion, but I have to ask if you've had tomatoes or red peppers the past couple of days? That would do it too

my DH is a gasto doc, I think he's find this incredibly amusing!
I also *think* I remember him saying that blood in stool can't really be seen, it has to be sent to a lab.

If it is from a hemmroid or a fissure (similar symptoms to a hemmroid and also very common during pg and after childbirth) it WOULD be seen mostly on the stool and on the tp.
Why do I know this? Lets just say after giving birth to my DS I developed some of these not so fun side effects and witnessed it first hand - the good news is all though it can be uncomfortable and painful it is treatable and not serious. I would just monitor it - sometimes it can be aone time thing - or hopefully it is just the cake

That's why I asked if it was red. I was taught bright red is hemorrhoids and black tarry is internal bleeding. But I guess red dye could do it to!
