blood test after BFP

when you go for your blood test after you get your BFP, does the dr/nurse give you the results right there or do you find out in a couple of days?

also, are you not supposed to eat for a few hours before or does it not matter?

Eating does not impact it at all. You should get the results by the end of the day if you go in the morning. If you go in the afternoon, you will get them the next day. Good luck!

Depends on the lab. Some stuff takes a while to get back. I think the next appt the OB went over the bloodwork with me. That was 2 weeks later. I guess if he got it sooner and there was an issue he would've said something.

They take a lot and test for a lot of stuff.

most places you get the results later that day or the next day depending on what time they drew the blood.

thanks! i just called my dr and they said i have to be 2 weeks late before they can do a blood test. so i guess i'll just be waiting around till then.

You should get them that day. It doesnt matter if you eat. You only have to fast when you do the pregnancy bloodwork after they know youre definitely pregnant to test you for lots of things.
