bloodwork and sono

Hi Ladies,

I have my day 10 bloodwork and sono tomorrow. I'm excited! Early next week sometime, I will be getting my first IUI! Let's hope it goes well :)

Silly question but how long do you wait after an IUI before you take a pregnancy test? Is it still two weeks?

Thanks!

Aw good luck!!! They should tell you when they believe you'll be ovulating (usually day or two after IUI - depending on if they're doing back to back) and then its two weeks from then like normal.Chat Icon

Wait, don't you get the IUI done while ovulating not afterwards because then you will miss the egg.

Sorry I see what may have sounded confusing in my response - after your sono and blood work they'll be able to determine when you're going to ovulate. For example they'll tell you you'll most likely be ovulating on Tuesday and have you come in Monday and Tuesday for the IUIs. I hope this helps and isn't more confusing! lol

I didn't mean that they'll tell you a day or two after the IUI but that normally you would ovulate a day or two after the IUI :).

Some practices do just one IUI, others have you come in for two back-to-back so it depends on your RE I think. Maybe ask when you go for your blood work.

There's no basis that a b2b IUI is more beneficial than one well-timed IUI.

We have done back to back IUI every time because sperm count was below 5 million on the first IUI. If it would have been over 5 million they would have just done one and we could choose to have sex the next day.

I had my first IUI in June. Had to do b2b because sperm count was low on the first day (of course). Did the next day with much better numbers.

My cycle has been pretty regular so I just tested the day after I was expected to get it (used a period tracker).

Now I am 20 weeks pregnant! Good luck to you!
