blown-in insulation
hi
Wondering if anyone has had insulation blown in to their homes...and if so, could you reccomend who you used?
We are leaning towards fiberglass rather than the cellulose.
Thanks in Advance ~CA

Re: blown-in insulation
We had it done in our garage a few years ago because we have bedrooms that sit above our garage and they were chilly in the winter. It took the men a whole day to do.
I will look up who we used and what we had blown in and post back. I have the records somewhere here!!
ETA: We used Federal Conservation Group
718-847-6137 631-264-7271
We worked with Joey.

Re: blown-in insulation
We have it in our house but we didn't have it put in. Our house is really warm in the winter and cool in the summer though... HTH!

We also have an old house. We used JC homecare. I don't remember what it cost but we were able to negotiate it.

Re: blown-in insulation
Our double (two)-car garage that we had done was about $1400. It was the ceiling, back wall and 2 side walls. Obviously they didn't have to do the front part where the garage doors are.
HTH.

Re: blown-in insulation
It wasn't messy at all. If you can be flexible on timing, JC Homecare was great about negotiating prices. We had the upstairs done one year, and the converted garage done a year or two later. I don't recall exact pricing, but I'm thinking in the $1500 range for the upstairs, including installation of an attic fan, and under $1000 for the garage conversion.

Re: blown-in insulation
not messy at all. For us they blew it in from the outside and went through the joints in the brick. Then we provided the paint since we have white painted brick and they touched up all the places.
We ended up picking the wrong paint so we had to paint over it. But that was our fault.
