boat ride
So, this weekend we are visiting friends and they want to go out on their speed boat. I'm only 13 weeks. Is it safe to go?

Re: boat ride
Hmm, I think falls under the "only if you're comfortable" category. My BIL wanted me to go on a jet ski 2 weeks ago and I told him he was out of his mind
Truthfully, if it were a sailboat or a larger boat I probably wouldn't think twice about it but a speedboat can get very bumpy and for me, I wouldn't be comfortable with that.
Good luck with your decision!
ETS: I just looked at your profile and see we're due the same day!!! How exciting

Re: boat ride
I've been on our boat our entire pregnancy without a problem. Just make sure the seas aren't high so it's not as bumpy. I love taking the boat out because the rocking puts my baby right to sleep.

Re: boat ride
As long as the driver is considerate there should be no reason not to go ... however, bumpy boats make for weak bladders so be prepared to jump in the water or have an understanding driver who will stop somewhere on land.

Re: boat ride
that's the thing you never know how bumpy your ride is going to be.
I was told no by my docotor to ferry ride to CT but I was 28 weeks at the time and I had just gotten over my low lying placenta.
I think it would be okay just double check with your doctor.

Re: boat ride
Thanks for your advice. I don't think it will be too bumpy since we are going out on a lake. I'm still a little nervous about it though. I'll just have to remind the driver that a crazy pregnant lady is on board.
Leeners-I haven't seen too many February due dates. How are you feeling? I'm starting to get a bit of a belly!

Re: boat ride
i've been on a boat twice since i've been pg. First was when i was about 5 months and i got very sick on the boat..It was a fast boat and was very very bumpy.. then about 3 weeks ago i went on a big party boat and i was fine! Just keep some ginger ale, water and a plastic bag handy!
just make sure the bag doesn't have holes in it..when i puked, i didn't want anyone to see, so i kept the bag on my lap, did what i had to do, but then it got all over my white pants and the floor

I went on my ILs boat up until the bitter end of my pregnancy. You should be fine.
