BOE Meeting Last night...SCDOH is requiring ...
contact tracing be done by the school districts and the school districts will be responsible for testing the 20% if we are in a yellow zone. SC looks like it will reach the orange zone by Sunday based on Cuomo's micro strategy clusters. However, the Super. would not comment about where we are...yellow? orange? or close to it. I can't find out any specific information on SC towns and were were are. Just broad county data. How are the school's going to contact trace? It's seems like an unnecessary burden. Can you help me find out where the towns are on the yellow/orange/red map?

I posted the letter from Riverhead superintendent regarding covid testing in schools on the other thread about NYC schools if you want to read it. Not sure how other schools and towns are faring but Riverhead is trending very poorly. They still do not think its spreading in schools...

as of now we are not in a yellow zone yet. but it is hard to find out and from what I hear we will probably be in one soon.
i caught a minute of Steve Balones conference today and he did say he wants schools to be open. they know its not spreading in schools and he will do everything he can to keep the schools open. basically what Laura Curran said about Nassau
the biggest issue i see is getting enough parents to agree on their kids getting tested.

And staff - they have to have staff agree as well...

I lean towards think it should be mandatory for staff. I say lean cause I don’t know exactly how I feel about that but I am sure other occupations are bound to mandatory orders. It’s just a test if it was vaccine I can see the push back
