Book club ladies

I was researching places to go for our meeting on 2/26 and was looking for an English pub place...

I found two - One is Canterbury Ales in Huntington Village, the other one is Canterbury Ales Oyster Bar and Grill in Oyster Bay.

I don't know if anyone has any other suggestions or if we want to pick one of those two. I don't know which one would be most convenient for everyone...

Personally, I would prefer the one in Oyster Bay but I'm willing to go with whatever is easiest for everyone.

Here are the links to both places - Let me know what you guys think!

Oyster bay

Huntington

Re: Book club ladies

Oyster Bay is better for me -- I've been to the one in Huntington a few times and - eh .

I have the book but haven't started reading itChat Icon I am free though and really want to come. Either location is fine for me though Oyster Bay is a little closer to work.

Re: Book club ladies

Seems like Oyster Bay wins!

As it gets closer, I'll get a head count and make a reservation.

I still have to read the book too...and I'm the one who picked it!Chat Icon

Ooh, I'm glad you said this. The first 50 pgs I was like ehhh, this is going to be tough to finish. It does seem to be getting better now that I'm in 'the' story.

For the restaurant, Oyster Bay would work a little better for me too but either is totally fine.

Really looking forwrd to this!!

Re: Book club ladies

Popping in at almost 4am to say that I have at least started this book and I will keep going to have it done on time and attend the month's meeting. Huntington is more convenient for me but I'm easy and I wouldn't mind a chance to check out the Canterbury Ales in Oyster Bay.

This book is very well written & the author does a great job of choosing words and keeping a flowing rhythm with her writing. The good writing is drawing me in. Let's see if the story keeps me there.

Well, I am going back to bed now.

Re: Book club ladies

I've been hearing on the news about the bad weather for tonight/ tomorrow...we are supposed to get four to six inches of snow.

If its bad outside do we want to cancel and reschedule?

We can decide tomorrow afternoon and see how it looks for everyone driving I guess.

I really, really, really hope we don't get a lot of snow!!!!
