Re: Book rec. for the 2-3 Yr olds?
Anything by Mo Willems.
The whole Pigeon series is great because it requires participation from your child. Don't let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and Don't let the Pigeon Stay Up Late are particular favorites. The kids get to tell the pigeon NO as you read the story.
The favorite Mo Willems in our house is Leonardo The Terrible Monster.
Other favorites are: In The Night Kitchen and Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Tuesday is a great picture book
Where's My Mom is fun too.

ITA with the Mo Willems recommendation. I teach kindergarten and my classes love Edwina the Dinosaur who didn't know she was Extinct by Mo Willems.
Not sure about the author but Little Pea is super cute, too. It's about a family of peas who are eating dinner and the mother pea is trying to get Little Pea to eat his candy and he doesn't want to (see the irony? ) I love this book!

Re: Book rec. for the 2-3 Yr olds?
Holly Hobbie (loved her 70s era illustrations and dolls) has a charming series of books called Toot and Puddle about 2 pigs. There are about 6 books in the series and they are about friendship. Very sweet stories with beautiful illustrations.
