Booking a Shower Venue
How many months in advance did you book the venue? I am most likely having my shower in August  (just thinking about the heat lol). My mom who is throwing the shower wants to start looking at places and start booking...I think its too early, I'm only 14 weeks.
What did you ladies do?

Keep in mind this is Long Island and the girls here (whether baby showers, bridal showers or whatever) do everything super far in advance. 
I wanted to be sure the place I wanted was available. My shower was booked in early January and it is on April 17.

lol thats what my mom said, shes like there are weddings in the summer we need to book soon etc...we shall see I guess.

My shower is in April and my mom and MIL booked it in December and a few places were already booked up! Go early!

thats about how far along i was when my family started looking. then they booked the place about 2-3 weeks later. so basically they booked a place in late February for an early June shower.

It can't hurt to start looking. We didn't anticipate May being a crazy month and boy were we wrong! Started calling places last month and everything is booked! We ended up booking my shower on June 5th....and I'm due June 20th. We are cutting it a little close, but I'm fine with it, hopefully our little guy doesn't show up too early!

Yeah, I would book early...esp. for the summer. We booked in February for May and a lot of places were already booked.

I agree with going early. My shower is April, and when my mom went to book it in January some dates were already taken. HTH!

We booked my April Shower in January when I had DS #1. I had it at a place that does several affairs at once, including weddings.

I tried to book my April shower in March and it was too late. Everything was booked. I ended up with the last weekend of May.  And it's only 3 weeks before my due date. I hope the baby doesn't come before my shower.
My advice: BOOK EARLY!

My mom waited until feb to start looking for a late april early may date and had to settle on an over priced place that she didnt love because it was all that was available that she knew had good food and service. i woould say the earlier the better!
