Books for babies to 3

Anything by Sandra Boynton. Our favorites are Snuggle Puppy, Moo Baa La La La, and Hippos Go Beserk.
Collections of fairy tales are always a hit in my house, or retellings of fairy tales.
My kids also like the "How Do Dinosaurs..." books.

I agree that kids love fairy tales and folk tales of any kind.
They also like any and all eric carle books (brown bear and the very hungry caterpillar).
I also like If You Give a Mouse A Cookie.
For real young ones though- newborns to 1.5... the best books are ones of colors or senses... like Pat The Bunny where you touch different materials and such. I think they have a whole series now (pat the pony, pat the dog, pat the cat, etc.)
