Booster Seat or High Chair??

So, next Saturday we're going to my brother & future-sister-in-law's engagement party at a condo hall (a little fancier than a VFW kinda of place).

We are bringing DS who is almost 16 mos. They'll have a DJ and all.

Now, I'm sure the hall won't have highchairs. DS has never sat in a booster seat, but I think he'd be ok, not sure.

So my question to you, should we bring our highchair or give our booster seat a try?

Thanks!

Can you call the place to see what htey have?

I'd go booster - as long as DS isn't too sqirmy he should be fine.

Why don't you try putting DS in the booster at home now? DS was in one at that age b/c we went to grandma's a lot and didn't schlep the highchair anywhere.

DS might not even eat that much b/c of all the excitement - you might just feed him on your laps.

Try the booster seat (maybe try it this weekend to make sure)...I'm sure he'll love it!

Re: Booster Seat or High Chair??

I'm pretty sure they won't have high chairs. Honestly, I don't want to get stuck with him on my lap for 6 hours. He feeds himself now so if I could dump him in the high chair or booster seat, I could enjoy my meal too, you know...

Maybe I'll try the booster seat at home this weekend and see how it works.

He is very active so I'm a little leary.

What kind of booster seat do you have? One with a tray? If so....DS was pretty secure in that even before 1 yr old and he is a mover & shaker when he eats!!!

Re: Booster Seat or High Chair??

DD loves her booster seat! I would totally give it a try before you actually go to the party......I bring DD's everywhere. I prefer it over a highchair from a resturant!

as long as it's secured to the chair, I don't see why it would be a problem.

Are you talking about bringing a travel highchair? (I have an AWESOME FP one that was like $24) or the actual full on highchair??
I wouldn't bother carting the whole highchair !!!

Is it one of the FP booster seats with a back? We use these at home every day, we got rid of the hair chairs about a month ago.
