How does everyone feel about boot-leg dvd's and cd's that are available for purchase on the street?

I don't buy them mainly because the ones I bought years ago were bad copies. It bothers me that most of the people selling them are getting money on the side, but on Medicaid as well.

I don't think it's right that people are making a profit off of bootleg movies. But I guess you can say I have a double standard because I don't object to downloading them for free (though I personally don't do it, I do get them from others who do).

I don't buy them, but my nephew gets them from time to time from other family members. The few I have happened to see were AWFUL copies.
I know they are illegal, and I choose not to buy them, but I don't see how it is different from buying a knockoff bag or any other illegal copy of something. I do crack up when I see them pack up in a flash at the sight of a cop.

i don't agree with them making money on the side either, i don't buy them . as far as the medicaid issue.... that is so true!

I don't either, but I know people who will buy one and not the other. I am not really sure why.

downloading music is a little bit different... sometimes I download some music but just for myself, I dont go around selling cds to make profit... and most of the time if I like the songs I will go out and buy CD at the store...

I know it's illegal...but so is downloading music and I'm guilty of that too...

On an entirely different note, I don't really understand the whole downloading music thing. I've heard about it, but I've never downloaded anything.
I don't know how different it is from copying each others tapes when we were kids. 
(Probably just that they couldn't keep tabs on people copying tapes!)
