borderline numbers for SA
Turns out my DHs numbers are borderline. All I remember out the conversation are 17% of this sperm are normal shape. the rest of the numbers fell in the normal range. DH will see a urologist b/c he is has varicocele to see if removing that will help but I heard that surgery doens't always work. Dr. still wants to go ahead with a clomid/iui cycle.....does that make sense?

Yes that is true. the surgery is very very painful and takes about 6 month to return to normal or improve. Your DH should see a urologist that specializes in infertility. I can recommend one if you like. My husband also has a vericocele but at this point is not having surgery. Go ahead we the clomid and IUI. It only takes one good one to get pregnant. Best of luck!!

WOW , To me 17% is above normal. Your talking about morphology right? That is their shape.
Some labs say anything over 14% is normal.
My Dh had 6 % and 5% and some Drs even said that was workable.
If your talking about morphology...17% s NOT LOW

he said 17% of all sperm were normal shape to work to get me pg. he said all numbers were within the normal range or borderline but seemed to focus on this 17%. THank you for your positive vibes!

My dr is herslag too so we probally are going to the same dr. His appt is also oct 25!!

Who is the urologist? I see Dr, Chu there and she sent us to a DR in manhassast who was excellent.

that's funny pedsnurse! the dr was sarah girardi i believe. are you doing an iui with hershlag? I am starting clomid on 10/27 or thereabouts and doing an iui mid-month. how about you?
I see him at 7 am on 10/27 and hopefully can make into work in the city by 9 am - it will be close though.

yep ...and we were told she is the top infertility urologist on Long Island.
She was very very nice....
The office wait was very long but the appointment went fast. She even wanted me in there with DH..be preparedthe rooms are teeny tiny........she was very thorough
