Botox & Fillers?
For those who have it done, do you go to a plastic surgeon's office or do you use your regular derm?
My derm, Dr. Lee with N. Shore Medical Group (just in case someone may have some experience with him) offers it, but I don't know if I'm better off seeing a plastic surgeon's office like Dr. Romanelli?

Re: Botox & Fillers?
Most plastic surgeons offices have an NP do Botox. Dr romanelli does not do it himself. I go to an NP and she's fine - just make sure there is a "presiding physician." For fillers, especially in the glabella region, I would prefer a doc, either derm or PS. That's a delicate area and fillers can go VERY wrong! Good luck. I love Botox :)

Re: Botox & Fillers?
There is a girl in my neighborhood who does this, she has an office and is amazing, she is a nurse practitioner no need to go to a plastic surgeon, I would reccommend her but it's in queens,
Do I think a dermatologists is fine

Re: Botox & Fillers?
Update:
Today I had an appointment with Dr. Marotta (Facial Plastic Surgeon) in Smithtown for a consult with the option to get the injectables afterwards if I was ready/interested.
I felt comfortable enough with him and his staff to proceed with Botox (for wrinkles in the forehead, the "11s" and crows feet) along with Restylane Silk for laugh lines when I smile. Dr. Marotta did the injections himself. The Restylane Silk is immediate and made a difference. I can see a slight improvement with the Botox, but I was told it would take a couple days to a week to see a true result. So far so good. I go back in 10 days for a follow-up.

All together, $1475 - but I had a lot of Botox done. They said I needed more than usual because crows feet extend around.
The Restylane Silk was $350 a syringe I believe and I think he only used one.
They offer discounts and so does the company that manufactures Botox as you have more done.

Sorry...just saw this!
My next appointment is for the end of October, so I guess around the 4 month mark to see how my body metabolized the injectibles. But I was told it can last as long as 8 months and from what I've read, if you continue using them, they tend to last longer.

How painful was the Restylane?

Just saw this...
I was mistaken...apparently I had Belotero injected in my laugh lines back in July, not the Restylane Silk.
I don't recall their being any pain...or maybe there's an initial pinch. Nothing that deterred me from going back. They numb your face with a gel for about 15 minutes or so before they do any of the injections. Most of the injectables have lidocaine in them as well.
I just had Restylane Lyft done in the cheek area this past Friday. It didn't hurt, but you can hear the actual gel being injected under skin and that can be a bit freaky.
