Bottle feeding, cereal & 6 week olds....???
I spoke to my pediatrician at our last appointment regarding when she recommends starting babies on cereal. She said that unless we have a really hungry baby she starts them on cereal at 4 months...OK..so nothing has changed since my girls were small..Well what if you have a hungry baby??????
My DS is eating five or six 8 ounce bottles a day!!!! He sucks them dry!!! We had to switch him from a fast nipple to a slow nipple just so he wouldnt gulp it down in 5 minutes!!!! Wouldnt this lead you to believe that he is a hungry baby???
When did your DC start cereal???

HOw often are you feeding him? Maybe try giving him smaller amounts more often?
Here's a page to help you figure out how many ounces of formula he should be getting based on his weight:

By 2 1/2 months my DS was exceeding his daily formula limit. My dr. had me put 2 tsp. cereal into his bottles to thicken it and cut back his bottles to 6 oz instead of 8 oz. He was much happier and was full after having his bottles and was able to get on a good schedule.

This might be the way to go..he is growing soooo quickly that Im sure he must be hungry. (he has grown 3 inches and gained 5lbs since birth)...
Thanks!
