bottle post from parenting
I just read on the parenting board about the possible danger of avent and dr. browns bottles. What kind of bottles are you buying for baby? I was planning on Dr. Browns, now I don't know what to do.

I received a bunch of Avent bottles at my shower. Gosh, what do I do now?

Re: bottle post from parenting
I didn't get any bottles at my shower yesterday, but I want to go buy some this week and I don't know what to do! I am totally freaked out about toys, bottles and bibs from all the recent information!

Re: bottle post from parenting
Many Dr's, nurses, etc are still recommending Avent & Dr. Browns despite the Bisphenol-A worries. I think it would be best to just use your own judgement, read up on it, etc.
FYI - I put the born free bottles on my registry (BRU) and later found out that not all BRU carries born free so it doesn't look like anyone bought them (my shower is today so we'll see!)
I also registered for the Avent tempo bottles which come with sanitized liners (Bisphenol-A free). Also, you could always get other brands that have the drop ins. Here is the link HTH good luck!avent tempo supplies

Re: bottle post from parenting
If I had to choose one baby product to new first time mommies...baby bottles, strollers, or otherwise...I strongly recommend PLATEX NURSERS..
While I am the type of person who believes that different products work best for individual lifestyles etc (no one product is best for everyone)...this is one product where I cant imagine why anyone would use anything else!!!! STRONGLY RECOMMEND..

Same here. I put them up on the Parenting Swap/Sell post but I imagine nobody will want them. They are brand new, I just threw out the boxes. I have a warmer and don't plan to microwave so I wonder if it will be okay but I can't stop thinking about it

Re: bottle post from parenting
I registered and received my Avent bottles. I was just researching online that Avent now makes liners to use. I plan on buying the liners and using a bottle warmer. They have cup liners and bag liners.

Re: bottle post from parenting
I think I'm going to go for the Born Free bottles. They're more expensive but I'd just rather not take the chance.

Re: bottle post from parenting
After I read the article, I did some online searching and found other articles about the "study" that was done. The Department of toxicology has a report out that states that the bottles are safe. Something about the study being done on 600 mice and only 11 were effected. Also the experiment could not be replicated for some reason.
I cannot imagine if there was a problem with all these bottles that they would not have been recalled already. Just my opinion.
