Bottle question for Breastfeeding moms

I am going to start registering soon and i had a question about breast feeding and bottles....I hope to EBF until i go back to work and probably pump when i have to go out without the baby....are their specific bottles for breastfeeding babies? Has anyone tried The First Years Breast Flow bottles? Any suggestions? I know what works for one baby may not work for others....but i could use some help!

thank you.

At 6 mos, my ebf baby would not drink anything from a bottle so I tried the Breast Flow & he took to it a little bit. I liked it but it did leak a little & had alot of pieces.

My SIL used breast flow as well as a friend of mine..they both loved them..they EBF'd as well and went back to work.

I used Advent wide necks for supplementing..

I use the evenflo glass bottles... DD took to it right away when I first introduced it to her at 1 month. However, she just started to refuse the bottle, so who knowsChat Icon

We use the First Years Breast Flow bottles and DD seems to be taking to them really well. Like a PP said though, they do have a lot of parts to clean.

Re: Bottle question for Breastfeeding moms

We tried the First Years bottles - DD hated them. We tried the Advent - DD hated it. We tried a couple of others that I don't even remember. We eventually got to the Playtex Drop-in with latex nipple - that she liked and drank from without a fuss, but she hated the silicone nipple. Chat Icon

Re: Bottle question for Breastfeeding moms

My DD is very happy with born Free bottles -- they have a wide breast-like nipple, and she has never had nipple confusion

Re: Bottle question for Breastfeeding moms

i used breastflow bottle and i highly recommend them!!!
it was the only bottle my daughter would take( we tried five different ones)
here is another tip I HIGHLY RECOMMEND INTRODUCING THE BOTTLE SOONER THAN LATER!!!

I was ebf while on maternity leave and since things went well, i didnt introduce a bottle! well, big mistake!! i tired giving her a bottle a few days before my return to work and it was hell.

my ped said she sees more moms having similar problems of babies not accepting the botttle as opposed to having nipple confusion issues.

i would introduce a bottle around 3/4 weeks old.
good luck!!

Same here. We introduced the bottle between 3-4 weeks. We started with the Dr. Brown standard bottles and DS struggled with them. Once we switched to the Born Free, DS has had no trouble.
