box spring
anyone ever hear of this, when your boxspring can't fit through a doorway you have the option to have it cut in half and then put back together?

Yes, I've heard of this. My neighbors said they had to do this when they moved into their homes cause a green box spring wouldn't fit up the stair case.
We had a difficult time too and cut up the walls/ceiling when we brought ours in as well.
They also sell queen box springs that come in half size,.

you can also get a split box spring (which is what we had to do for the queen bed we have in our upstairs guest room). It's basically two twin (or maybe slightly larger) boxsprings instead of one big one.
