Boy Naming Difficulty
When I was pregnant with my daughter, boy names came so easy. Now that I'm due with a son in just something like 20 days, it's only girls names that I like. Go figure.
As of now we've got it narrowed down to 4 that we like, but are definitely still looking for new ones that we haven't considered. If you feel like helping out, let me know which one you like best. It's always interesting to get outsiders' perspectives. If you like none of them, such is life. Add your favorites. I'd love to hear them!!

Re: Boy Naming Difficulty
I voted for Eli. I do like Sawyer as well and that almost got my vote, but I feel like what kind of nickname can you make from that? Probably stupid, but hey, it's what popped into my brain.
Also, I just think of Lost when I think of Sawyer.

Of those choices, Sawyer is my favorite.
Our son is Dylan. I also like Declan and Gavin.
We are having the opposite problem with girl names and I'm due next week. So send your girl name ideas my way!!

haha, it's funny how different perspectives can totally make or break a name. I'm kind of on the opposite end. I'm not a fan of nicknames. I tend to lean toward the names that you can't really shorten or change. But yes, I usually think of either Tom Sawyer or Sawyer from Lost. HAHA! That's the name my 4 yr old daughter already calls him and she gets mad when we suggest another.
I've loved the name Eli ever since I was young. Just a good strong name.
DH really likes Beau. I'm not sure where it came from, but it's a favorite of his.
Lincoln is one we threw out there before we knew we were having a boy. We just really liked it. And the shortened version of Linc is nice too. But not sure if I could consider it a 'favorite'. Still in the picking though.

Those are all awesome too. A couple of them I know from past students (the woes of working in preschools). haha!

Girl names I had SUCH a problem with when I was carrying DD. With this one I was SURE SURE SURE I was having another girl and was completely set on the name Eden. I am in absolute love with that name. It was a little disappointing when I realized I couldn't use it. lol.

Too funny. There was a boy in my sons preschool class last year named Lincoln and I thought it was cute and not overly used.

It's only a problem for me if the KID was a problem, or if like 25% of my class made up of that name. lol. My husband likes the name Beau and I did have a student once with that name. Doesn't bother me since he was a cutie pie and the only one I've ever met. (not sure how sold I am on that one in particular though, regardless).

That's too funny! I'm actually with you on the nickname thing- my favorite boy's name (and DH's fave) is Liam. My FIL said well everyone will call him Lee. Not if I have anything to say about it! That's usually why I go for something short and sweet. Though some nicknames work- I actually really like Linc as a nickname for Lincoln. It's cute! Go figure- I'm just all over the damn place. And that is SO sweet about your DD. My parents let me name my little sister when I was 8... Kelly... after Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell. At least it's still a good name... despite the origin!

We're pretty much set on Ava for a girl. But, my other favorite name, which I'm not allowed to use is Adelina. My bff was adopted from Columbia as a baby and her birth name was Adelina... so she has dibs. But I think it's such a beautiful name!

Glad I can help. haha. Maybe it'll be a favorite for you guys I always wish I named my daughter that. I did have it on the list, but I wasn't as in love with it 4 years ago and she just didn't LOOK like an Eden when she was born. Years later though I keep thinking I should have gone with it. I want to make sure I don't do that again with this one (wishing later down the road that I'd chosen the OTHER name).

I've only known 2 Liams in my life and neither one ever went by Lee. I think it pretty much depends on what immediate family calls them. I have a long 3 syllable name and I HATE the short version of it. I don't allow people to call me anything but my actual name. Growing up though, my family always called me by my full name so I wonder if I would have felt different if I'd been called the nickname instead. Either way, I don't think you have to worry about that if you do decide to go with Liam.
And that's so cute that you named your sister. That happened in my family too. When my younger sister was born, my older sister (who was 6) named her Rachel. Years later, Rachel still makes jokes about how horrible it is that my mother let her do that. Not that she hates her name, but it's such a common one and she's dealt with multiple Rachels in every class every year of school and she hated that (meanwhile me & my sister have more unique names - though to be fair she always was the only one who could find personalized stuff. haha). So, yeah, I consider letting my DD name her brother too just because I think it's cute and special and I do like the name (Sawyer is her choice). But then I think of Rachel and get nervous. LMAO.
