boys leaking through diapers

so i searched for previous posts and tried some of the suggestions - lather on the vaseline (i'm doing that anyway b/c of circumsion), point peesh down, try bigger size diaper and still nothing.

starting two days ago, he started leaking through his diaper - well, not necessarily through, more like up his back and side. Any suggestions that I haven't tried? I can't drive to the store yet to get the diaper doublers, but I'm going to have my husband bring me after he gets out of work - anything else I can try? it seems like he's doing it at least 3 or 4 times each day.

You have been using the bigger size diapers? Making sure that the back is high enough without making the front look like a bikini?

also make sure to make it firm and tighten it around the waist. when I first took my son home, I was afraid I'd hurt him if I tightened it too much and then when the leaking started, I asked the ped about it and she asked me to show her how I put his diaper on, well apparently, I wasn't putting it on tight enough so that was the reason it was leaking.

My DS did this in the beginning too...I just was very diligent about keeping his pee pee down...that seemed to help. we used Huggies diapers by the way...not sure if that made a difference.

which diapers are you using? my DS was leaking through the pampers swaddlers so we switched to huggies gentle care - they worked better for us!

omg, when he was about 2 weeks old DS did this like 3-4 times a day. laundry was running CONSTANTLY. we changed from huggies to pampers swaddlers. the newborn huggies were way too big. we also fastened the diapers tighter - i was afraid of making them too tight at first. both of those things worked and now he only does it every once in a while.

I had the same problem---tried alllllllllll brands did all tricks nothing worked---I bought the diaper doublers in bru---30 or so for like 2.00 give or take and it never happened again.
it is pretty much a pad without tape.
The doctor said it just means their kidneys are really working...they pee more at night...thats it./

If he is sleeping on his side, it is going to go up his side...

We switched to Luvs and haven't had any problems. And we use Huggies Overnights at night. The smallest size is a 3, and I've had DS in those since he was about 10lbs.

Ds leaked fairly frequently when he was still and infant, but after trying different diapers nothing worked. It just kind of stopped on its own around 4 months.

my ds has leaked a few times...i just found that making sure his peesh is down and that the diaper is up high enough in the back and tight enough works.
oh and that you pull out those little ruffly things around the legs.

we're using the swaddlers - he's been in both newborn and size 1. it may be that its not tight enough b/c i'm worried about his umbilical cord. he has a doc appt on friday, so i'll ask the doc then. he did it again last night - 3 times. he sleeps on his back but my mom's been changing him at night, so i can't tell how tight she makes it.

I had the same probelm and it was becasue the diaper was to small
