Bra question for lager chests...

No matter what size bra I try, or the style, I can never get the middle of the bra to lay flat against my chest. I've measured myself, been measured, and it never lays flat. I read an article on bra fitting that said some boobs just don't allow for the bra to lay flat.

Anyone with me? Or have a recommendation? I love Wacoal, but their sizing has been off lately and the quality seems to be going down.

Re: Bra question for lager chests...

You had me peeking down my shirt at my bra..

I wear the Cacique line by Lane Bryant. Swear by them for good support without being massive amounts of material.
My favorite is the cotton t-shirt bra. It's padded, which adds to the support and doesn't allow for nip-show.
And the center piece does lie flat against my chest.

I'm a big fan of Chantelle.
Go to a lingerie store, not a dept store to get measured.
They have more and better merchandise.

Bra question for lager chests...

Not alone. I also have a problem that I get fitted, and it fits fine in the store, then after wearing a while, my boobs spill out. I have a HORRIBLE time finding bra's. Right now, my non-underwire nursing bra is the ONLY one that I will wear. It's a 38 GGG I think... and they tried to get me in a FF, and I was spilling out. I HATE how they measure me with the current bra on, it never gets a proper measurement IMO.

You need a professional fitting.

I measure 28" around my chest (ribcage) so I can wear a 28H or a 30G, the 30G is more comfortable. The difference between your ribcage and your boobs at the largest point is what determines cup size.

People automatically assume that bigger boobs = bigger ribcage but that is not the case.

The band size is really important - 90% of your support should come from the band! The straps will give you lift.

I would go to Nordstrom if you can, they have a good selection of different sizes and they are not as expensive as the specialty stores.

I am a big fan of Freya bras, they happen to fit me very well and give good lift.

Im not plus size but due to the size of my boobs, 36DD, I can wear the Cacique Balconette from Lane Bryant, best fit, support and comfort, hands down!

Bra question for lager chests...

I have never had a bra that lays flat against my chest. I did recently get this bra -- Bali Bra: Double Support Comfort-U Wire-Free Full-Figure Bra and the girls are actually separated! No more uniboob!

Have any of you ever had a professional fitting? I mean, seriously - it makes a HUGE difference. It IS possible. They make very small band sizes with larger cup sizes that will allow the middle of the bra to lay flat.

I did, at Victoria's Secret and Macy's.

Even with their measurements, it never laid properly.

Maybe I need to get another measurement somewhere else, it has been a few years.

Yes at Blums in Patchogue- a bra shop.

I always have that problem. I did get measured at a bra store. They kept me in the size I was wearing & grabbed a bunch in that size & they all fit differently. I bought 2 of them. I tried to buy more of them elsewhere, but 1 changed & I think they other is discontinued & the store is now closed.

The only bra I find comfortable is my sports bra.

I AGREE WORD FOR WORD. HAHA.

However, my BFF has a very large chest- like an H or J size and she has the same issue with the middle never laying flat.

IMO places like that and Georgette's are so old fashioned, they used to know what they were doing but I don't think they do anymore - and they are so overpriced it's obnoxious. I would absolutely try Nordstrom, I know they aren't a bra shop but I had such a good experience there I recommend them to everyone.

Noooooo VS is notoriously awful! I don't know about Macy's but if the bra doesn't lie flat in the middle it's the wrong band size. I am a 30G. It's insane! But it fits perfectly, even having a large chest, and it's perfectly flat against my chest in the center.

When I was measured at Bloomies way back, Wacoal fit the best, but I've noticed their sizing no longer really fits and the quality seems cheaper. I spent a few hours one afternoon trying on every size recently at just couldn't get it right.

I definitely want to check out Chantelle and the Lane Bryant brand.

Yes, I did at Blum's. They had their hands all over me
