Brazilian or Japanese Hair Straightening treatment!
Looking into getting one of these done..I can't take my frizz hair esp with the summer here! I think I heard the Brazilian treatment is newer...but is it "better"?
Has anyone gotten it? either? Do you recc it?? How long does it last? and more importantly how much does it cost??

Re: Brazilian or Japanese Hair Straightening treatment!
I've gotten the Brazilian. It's not as much a straightening treatment as a conditioning treatment. I had to blow out my hair with a brush to get it straight and shiny. That lasted for about 2 and a half months, after which I had to flat-iron it again. But it was still thicker and shinier for another 2 months after that. I couldn't wash my hair for 24 hours and it cost $300.
Japanese straightening makes your hair pin straight. It's permanent. So you actually get "roots" as your curly/wavy hair grows in and your hair is stick-straight below. It's chemically harsher on your hair so you can't get it if your hair has ever been dyed or highlighted.
Head over to the "Fashion and Beauty" board - there are about 100 threads on this over there!
