Re: brazilian straightener ?

If you are talking about the Brazilian Keratin treatment then just to clarify for you it is not really a straightener but more of a relaxer. It is not like the Japanese hair straightening which is a permanent straightener that strips the life out of your hair and yes - leaves it very damaged. However, there are lots of people who get JHS and it looks great (although to the touch it feels dead and dry).

The brazilian keratin treatment is a conditioning treatment that is put into your hair, flat ironed with a 450 degree iron and left in for 4 days before washing. It lasts about 3-6 months depending on your hair type and how well you maintain it. It eliminates the frizz, will loosen any curl you have (but not get rid of it completely), and makes your hair a lot more manageable. I have had it done a few times - I have very thick curly hair and it is impossible to blow and keep straight in the summer with all of the humidity, but with the Keratin I have decreased my blow drying time (from 40minutes down to 20 minutes) and my hair withstands the humidity.

You will need to use special conditioner and shampoos to help maintain the treatment and you should stay out of the pool water and salt water as much as possible.

Feel free to FM me if you need any other info.

And there's a version with formaldehyde and a version without. Get the version without.

Yes, that too. However, I believe if you want to take out most of your curl - you need to do the one with formaldehyde. I did the generic one without it.
