Brazilian Waxing, whats the deal?
So it seems like brazilian waxing is something that all my friends are doing. They swear it changes their lives. Even Oprah said that every women should try it once. So whats so special about something that must hurt like heck!!! My friend and I decided to give it a chance... does anyone have a recommendation about a place on Long Island that specializes in such an acitivity? I have heard that the green wax doesn't require strips and hurts a whole lot less...I think that is what we are looking for. Anyone know of a place? Anyone think I am nuts?

I've never heard of "green wax" but I go to Polished in Sayville and they do a great job. It's definitely worth the pain! (and I don't think it hurts that much!)

I heard that if you take a few advil a couple of hours before hand it will dull the pain.

Re: Brazilian Waxing, whats the deal?
I just got a regular bikni wax the other day with rose wax which required no strips (& is apparently much gentler), I think it hurt a little less but I guess I'm just used to the strips. Definetly take advil beforehand.

I thought it was great until I kept getting in grown hairs. So I did it until the wedding and went back to shaving. It definetely is a lot smoother for much longer, but the in grown hairs just made it a nightmare for me.

Re: Brazilian Waxing, whats the deal?
Well, for starters it doesn't hurt THAT much. I guess it does hurst pretty badly the first time but the longer you do it the less painfull it is. Also, taking a couples of pain killes an hour before your appointment really makes a difference.
As far as it being so special--it is! And it wil change your life in and out of the bedroom. You feel so much cleaner as well as sexier and your relationships with DH will be taken to a whole new level. You will see! Good luck and enjoy!
P.S. I now get it done in Queens by where I live and before that I had it done in Manhattan for years so unfortunatelly I can't recommend any places on LI.

Re: Brazilian Waxing, whats the deal?
I had it done at Glowskin day spa in manhattan. They used the green wax (no strips) and I thought it hurt like hell. I think I have a pretty high pain threshold but I should have had some advil beforehand. Some parts of it hurt less than others though and you do get through it.
I liked having the effect of it - but I havent gone back.
