Bread Bowl Soup on LI?
It feels like a soup day and Dh and I are craving Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. Any suggestions? WE are in Suffolk....

Panera has bread bowls, and so does Quizno's!
ETA: There is a new Panera in the South Shore mall in Bay Shore.

I believe a few restaurants in Pt Jeff have the clam chowder in the sourdough bread bowl.

You could hit the grocery store and get bread and canned soup... Make it yourself.

Yeah make it yourself! My soup only took about 5 minutes...cut up some leeks, soften them in butter, add some veggie stock, bring to the boil, add the cut up peeled spuds, simmer til spuds are soft, add some single cream...Bobs your uncle...Leek and Potato soup! Eat with sourdough bread (not a bowl, but yummy nonetheless) and a very delish satifsying meal!

yummmmmmmm! I love panera's broccoli cheddar in a bread bowl ! I want that now...maybe I can get DH to agree to a Panera dinner

Go to Panera and go the sourdough bowls (they just look like big rolls). Get some clam chowder in the supermarket. Cut open the bread and pour the soup in. I have done it many times.

its probably a little late, but... i Love the steam room in port jeff (dont know how their chowder is, but i'm in love with their seafood bisque in a bread bowl)
