Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of former Sen. John Edwards, has died after a battle with breast cancer, her family says.

I am so sad by this, I didn't expect to get such a reaction from her death. I just feel so awful with everything she went through, her son passing, her husband being an idiot, and for her to have to have suffered a long and painful death...UGH...

I feel so bad. In so many of the articles I've read from her or about her it was always "i dont want to leave my children yet." Im a mom now and I want to cry just thinking about it. She fought for so long. Maybe now she's in peace and re-united with her son.

so sad to hear this. I don't know why I always expected her to make a recovery for some reason until I heard the doctors couldn't do any more for her. Many prayers for her family

So sad! Yesterday I heard the announcement about stopping treatments and was very sad. But this is awful. She has a 10 year old.

I agree. I just read that John was with her when she passed and I was so glad he was there for her at the end after all they've been through. So sad.
